Achieving a just result can be a long hard road.  Often it takes an appeal to right wrongs that occurred at the trial level. No matter what the appeal issue, having an appellate attorney can make a difference, since the skills needed at trial and upon appeal are very different. The heart of the appellate process is persuasive writing.  After obtaining a journalism degree from Northwestern University, I was a professional writer for a decade. 

After graduating from Boston College Law School and serving an appellate court clerkship, I focused on appeals.  While often appellate attorneys are self taught, I wanted to learn from the best and worked for years at the Attorney General’s Appeals & Opinions Bureau and the Center for Appellate Litigation in Manhattan.  Having done 350 appeals has helped me learn how to effectively collaborate with clients and trial counsel to achieve a just result.
